What do you get when you cross a popular commercial jingle with a die hard Bronco/Peyton Manning loving family from Colorado Springs?  A spoof on the popular “Nationwide is on your side” slogan.

The Broncos may not have made it to the Superbowl this year, but this family wanted Peyton Manning to know they’re still his biggest fans.

The kids often hum the tune to the popular Nationwide jingle, and began making up their own lyrics to it.

“You’re the greatest of all time,”

“That’s OK, we still love you.”

“We’ll cheer louder next season.”

These are the words they sing to their football hero, and dad decided to catch it on video. Check it out for yourself!  Go Broncos! (next year, that is)

Here are our top 5 things to do this weekend in and around Colorado Springs!  Get out and have some fun with the family!

1. Touch-A-Truck (Jan 31-Feb.1): Touch-A-Truck is one of El Paso County’s premier family events. The purpose of this fun, family-oriented, hands-on event is to raise funds to support the community-based initiatives of the JLCS.  In the past 90 years, the Junior League of Colorado Springs has returned over $2 million and volunteered over 2,000,000 hours of service to the community.

Smiling children, volunteers serving the community, and good times – that’s how the Junior League of Colorado Springs’ Touch-a-Truck event will be remembered by all who attend!  Come see cement trucks, fire trucks, race cars, SWAT vehicles, and more on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Freedom Financial Services Expo Center.

At work, these trucks and vehicles can be driving fast, moving large rocks, or saving lives. Now they are in a safe location for kids to sit in the driver’s seat having the same view as a race car driver.  For more info and tickets please visit https://www.jlcoloradosprings.org/?nd=touchatruck

One Bayfield, Colorado mom has been through a rollercoaster of emotions this past year.  At 10 weeks in to her sixth pregnancy, Heather Choate received a devastating diagnosis.  She had breast cancer.

Doctors advised Heather to end her pregnancy to save her own life, but she refused, saying she would rather die than to do that to her unborn child.

This month, not only did Heather give birth to her healthy baby girl, but the family received a double dose of good news.  Scans showed that Heather is also now cancer-free.  Heather had undergone surgery and chemotherapy while pregnant.

“I just got tears… in my eyes because that means we’ve done it — we have a baby here and things are looking good,” Heather said.

There is still a long road ahead of more chemotherapy and radiation, but things are looking positive for the Choate family, and we couldn’t be happier for them!
