Traditional Apple Pie
1/2 – 2/3 cup of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon butter
1 pie crust – homemade or store bought
Pare and Slice apples.
Sift dry ingredients together and mix with apples.
Line pie-pan with crust.
Fill with apple mixture, dot with butter and cover with top crust.
Bake at about 450 degrees for 15 minutes.
Reduce oven heat to 350 degrees and bake for 45 minutes.
For a golden, shiny crust brush butter over the top of the pie during the last 10 – 15 minutes of baking.
You can add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the dry ingredients for a variation.
